About our founder and managing partner



Mike Terry founded and serves as Managing Partner for Paramount Strategies, a full-service Tennessee-based Public Affairs and Communications consulting firm with a wide range of subject matter expertise.

Mike is a communications industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience creating outreach strategies and directing corporate, public affairs, political, and grassroots campaigns. He has extensive understanding of how to use electronic, print, telephone, and direct mail marketing to deliver messaging to targeted demographics.

Mike has experience working with major public companies, trade and professional associations, small and medium-sized businesses, educational institutions, non-profits, foreign governments, and international leaders on the design and implementation of communication strategies and high stakes public affairs campaigns. Prior to founding Paramount Strategies in 2011, Mike ran the political operations for retired Congressman Bart Gordon for 18 years and was recognized as one of Tennessee’s premier political organizers.

Mike earned his B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1992 and is a former board member of MTSU’s National Alumni Association. Prior to earning his degree at MTSU, he attended the University of Tennessee where he competed as a high jumper on the 1985 Southeastern Conference Champion track team.

Mike lives in Murfreesboro with his wife, Lisa. He is active in his community with a history of supporting education, children’s charities, and the underserved as well as culture and the arts. He currently serves on the board for the Floyd Charitable Foundation and is active with the Rutherford Arts Alliance.
